Barron’s once labeled Rick Ackerman an “intrepid trader” in a headline that alluded to his key role in solving a notorious pill-tampering case. He received a $200,000 reward when a conviction resulted, and the story was retold on TV’s FBI: The Untold Story. But to the gang at CNBC, he’s been a pariah for the last ten years – a shoot-from-the-hip kinda guy whose irreverent style got him banned from the show after an interview on Squawk Box was alleged to have gone awry.

His professional background includes 12 years as a market maker on the floor of the Pacific Coast Exchange, three as an investigator with renowned San Francisco private eye Hal Lipset, seven as a reporter and newspaper editor, three as a columnist for the Sunday San Francisco Examiner, and two decades as a contributor to publications ranging from Barron’s to The Antiquarian Bookman to Fleet Street Letter and Utne Reader. His detailed strategies for stocks, options, and indexes have appeared since the early 1990s in Black Box Forecasts, a newsletter he founded that originally was geared to professional option traders.

Rick Ackerman is the editor and publisher of Rick’s Picks, an online service for traders from novice to expert. He has been trading himself for more than 40 years, a dozen of them as an options market-maker on the floor of Pacific Stock Exchange. CNBC and Bloomberg have featured his work, and he has written on the markets and the economy for numerous publications, including Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities;Stocks, Futures & Options; Barron’s and The San Francisco Examiner. A headline in Barron’s labeled him an “intrepid trader” after he helped the FBI solve a notorious pill-tampering case. He received a $200,000 reward and a guest appearance on FBI: The Untold Story. An epic party on San Francisco Bay celebrated the event.
In the trading world, Rick is known for the unusual accuracy of his price predictions and for the Hidden Pivot Method he uses to trade and forecast. His provocative insights and timely trading calls have made him a frequent guest on shows hosted by Max Keiser, Greg Hunter, Corey Fleck and Jim Goddard, among others. His thoughts on the markets and the headlines have also been featured on ZeroHedge, Seeking Alpha, Benzinga, The Daily Reckoning, FX Street, Financial Survival Network, Crush the Street, Jory Capital, Howe Street, Gold-Eagle.comGoldseek.com321Gold.com and Kitco.

    (a) Trading Ideas. TradeExchange provides an independent marketplace from which you may access investment information based on expert guidance and patented analytics. Our Services platform allows you to access investment ideas and strategies (“Trading Ideas”) as published by independent, third party sources (“Publishers”). With our Services, you may evaluate and apply Trading Ideas, and track the resulting outcomes in a simulated trading account. Such outcomes illustrate the hypothetical results of applying the Trading Ideas / strategies you select via your entry/adjustment/exit decisions under market, limit and conditional order types. When you select a Trading Idea strategy, we provide hypothetical performance details with respect to the entire strategy, as well as the individual details of closed trades with net returns expressed as a percentage or dollar amount.

    (b) Publishers. You may find Publishers of Trading Ideas in the marketplace through our strategy search feature using parameters such as asset class and trading style (e.g., buy/hold, swing trading, day trading, etc.). Our sector search results are then provided to you and sorted according to performance and time frame. Our Services also allow you to search the marketplace by Publisher and by the Trading Idea strategies (or listings) that they make available.

(c) Application of Idea Credits. Our Services are available to you based on your expenditure of cre dits that you acquire under your account (“Idea Credits”). You may apply your Idea Credits to various Trading Idea products as listed in the marketplace. You may acquire Idea Credits via your payment of fees (“Fees”), receipt of refunds or special offers from us. Basically, you pay for access to Trading Ideas with the Idea Credits in your account on a “per Trading Idea” basis. The results of these Trading Ideas are evaluated by our trading simulation processing.
If a given Trading Idea closes as a “gain” as determined by our simulation system, then the Idea Credits that you applied to the Trading Idea are spent and are not refundable. If, on the other hand, the Trading Idea closes as a “loss” as determined by our simulation system, or if the Trading Idea is canceled by the Publisher, the Idea Credits that you expended for the Trading Idea will be refunded and recredited to your account.

    (d) We may also credit your account with “free” Idea Credits under special promotions that we may offer to you from time to time. Regardless of whether you received your Idea Credits via your payment of Fees, refunds for Trading Idea “losses,” or our special promotions, you may apply any Idea Credits in your account to any Trading Idea listed in the marketplace. Also, at the end of each yearly quarter, we will refund
any remaining Idea Credits in your account to you, with the exception of Idea Credits that we provided to you under special promotions.

    (e) IMPORTANT. You understand and agree that there is no relationship whatsoever between Trading Idea gains and losses as determined by our simulation system, and the actual gains and losses that you may experience when engaging in real trades based on the Trading Ideas. Fees charged and refunds (if any) are based solely on our determination of Trading Idea performance via simulation, NOT on how you may choose to apply such Trading Ideas to your actual trades. For example, if after purchasing a Trading Idea you elected not to engage in any real trades or you closed a trade at an actual loss, however, our simulation system registered a gain for the Trading Idea at the time of its closing, your Idea Credits will be spent and you will not be refunded any Fees or Idea Credits.

    (f) You understand and agree that all trades that you make after reviewing the Trading Ideas made available by the Services are solely based on your own decisions. Trading Ideas may include suggested entry prices, allocation amount (expressed as a % of portfolio) and symbols of particular securities (stocks, options, spreads, crypto). TradeExchange, however, does not propose investment ideas directed at your personal financial situation or otherwise, but rather only presents the Trading Ideas upon which you may decide whether or not to act.

    (g) You are responsible for managing your own investment positions and any orders that you make using the Services including those for entry, adjustment, cancellation, and close at market or other exit targets. Our Services provide you with simulated trading capabilities to allow you to try the platform Services before linking to a real money account.

    (h) Note to Publishers: TradeExchange reserves the right to upload the trading history for any product or strategy offered on the Services platform to verify results via various methods including without limitation Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) statements, third party validation, and brokerage statements.
